Apply for Care
We use a network of volunteers to assist animals and their owners in time of need. We have limited resources but we will do our best to assist each animal and their owner.
Please be aware that there can be a delay in response time as there are limited administration volunteers (who all have full-time jobs) and many requests for help.
Initial criteria

There are no other options for animal care

The owner is experiencing a crisis such as illness

Care is to be short term but will be assessed case by case

A dog is not a declared dangerous or nuisance dog

A cat or dog is desexed and microchipped

If the animal is not desexed or microchipped, it will be desexed and microchipped at owners own cost with an upfront payment of at least 50%
**If you are experiencing homelessness or accommodation issues we are unable to help so we advise you to seek other charitable agencies or solutions. Local Facebook dog or community groups may be able to assist. We are also not a rehoming organisation**

Fees
We charge a nominal fee for foster care and in-home feeding/care. For a person on a pension or welfare, or experiencing verifiable financial hardship, this is currently $10 per day for one pet or $15 per day for two or more pets for foster care, or $15 per day for in-home feeding. This is comparable to the RSPCA and allows us to purchase supplies for animals and necessary vet costs, as well as related expenses. Owners are still responsible for any veterinary bills but are able to pay it back, no interest.
IMPORTANT: Due to the cost of living crisis, lack of foster carer ability and an increase in people requiring assistance, we currently have a waiting list for many animals, including large breed dogs (over 20kg) requiring foster care. We recommend that you also seek assistance from other organisations as we do not always have the resources to assist at this stage. There may be a response delay time. As always, we will endeavour to help to the best of our ability.
